Founded in 1998 and incorporated in 2004, Concrete Pool & Spa has been dedicated from day one to helping oʻhana on the west side of Hawaiʻi Island create their ideal backyard. Some of life’s most meaningful memories are made at home, which is why every space we build is crafted with exceptional quality and care.
We recognize that living in Hawaiʻi is a privilege and believe in giving back whenever possible. That commitment is reflected in our use of energy-efficient pool equipment, allowing us to mālama i ka ʻāina—to respect and care for the land.
Services provided by Concrete Pool & Spa, Inc. include, but are not limited to, inground swimming pools, commercial construction, residential builds, tile mosaics, ponds, waterfalls, glass-wall swimming pools, fire pits, plaster or pebble resurfacing, saltwater pools, cold plunges, spas, faux rockwork, etc.

MEET ROB
ROBERT SHROPSHIRE was raised in Keaukaha and Kona on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. After graduating Konawaena High School, he obtained his B.A. in Business from the University of Hawai'i, Hilo.
In 1998, Robert co-founded Concrete Pool & Spa, Inc. with his wife, Joan, and has proudly served the Big Island community ever since. As President of the company, he is deeply involved in every phase of each project, from pre-construction planning to final completion. Known for his hands-on approach, Robert is often the first on site and the last to leave, ensuring every detail meets the highest standards and every client is completely satisfied.

JOAN SHROPSHIRE was born and raised in the small town of Halaula on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. She graduated from Kohala High School and went on to obtain a degree from the University of Hawaiʻi in Secretarial Science.
In 1998, Joan co-founded Concrete Pool & Spa, Inc. alongside her husband, Robert. Since then, she has proudly served the Big Island community with aloha, integrity, and a strong commitment to excellence.
